The ultimate party piece for the festive season, it's a look that defines sophistication. Here, model and author Abbey Clancy picks her favourite design from her new collection for Lipsy.

You can never go wrong with a classic LBD. My top tip for party season would always be, if in doubt – wear black – as you don’t need to wear colour to stand out. That’s where texture and embellishment like sequins and feathers make all the difference. My favourite this season is this gorgeous one-shoulder style from my Lipsy range. I love it – the pencil silhouette is really flattering and the subtle touch of beading lends that special attention to detail. Wear it with a comfy pair of heels so you can dance all night, adding sparkling drop earrings and a statement clutch. For your make-up, I would suggest a smoky eye – this will keep your look sophisticated but with a vampy edge, which is perfect for evening. Plus, it's an easy way to amp up your outfit with minimal effort.
