The summer scarf trend

Every now and then a trend comes back around that you never thought would. This season, it’s the pattern-heavy summer scarf that is no doubt imprinted in your mind as something your grandmother wore (usually knotted under the chin in order to look like the Queen) – as well as the silver screen sirens of years gone by.

Think Brigitte Bardot in the 1963 classic film noir, Contempt, styling hers as a headband, or the iconic outfits of Susan Sarandon in Thelma & Louise who goes from all-out American glamour with a headscarf and cat-eye sunglasses to channelling outlaw-chic with a necktie and high-waisted denim. Both examples are accessorised with a convertible vintage car, which we highly recommend if you want to truly embrace this trend.

How to wear it now? The options are endless. As mentioned above, but also worn wrapped around your ponytail, twisted as a belt or tied around the handles of one of this season’s basket bags. It’s a simple update that will instantly elevate your look and style icon status.
