The Shirt Collar Guide hereYour New Year's Suiting GuideHow to Layer Your Suit

With changing seasons comes the perfect opportunity to reassess what’s in your wardrobe, and this winter there’s no better investment than a thicker, weather-appropriate suit. Like everything, you’ve got to consider upcoming occasions as well as what’s already in your wardrobe in order to make a new two piece a worthy investment. Dressing well for winter is an art, so learn the rules.

Summer suiting is centred on lightweight and breathable fabrics but in winter, you want the opposite. When the seasons change, it’s about switching up fabrics to make sure you’re perfecting both style and function. Wool combinations, NEP and flannel are materials to look out for, with each one serving the same purpose of keeping you warm and sartorially on point.

Black is an easy route to go down, but while colours change outside, why not mix things up? Not only will different greens, reds and browns help separate you from other men, but they’ll also be a welcome change on a grey day. Pick your colour according to your skin tone and avoid anything that’ll make you look washed out.

With the harsh realities of the Great British winter, there will definitely be days that require extra layering. Whether you pick a down gilet, a tailored overcoat or a slick mac, make sure that you’re never detracting from your suit. Choose pieces that are universal in colour and that’ll blend in nicely with whatever suit you choose.
