How to tie a windsor knot

Got an important meeting and need to know how to tie a Windsor knot? The Windsor is a thicker, wider tie

knot that spreads out within a shirt collar. Follow the steps below to perfect that knot.

Step 1 - cross the ends

Begin with the wide end of your tie on the right; around 14 inches lower than the narrow end on the left. Now cross the wide end over the narrow end.

Step 2 - through the loop

Bring the wide end up in-between the loop created in the space between your collar and tie. Next, pass the wide end back down.

Step 3 - the crossover

Bring the wide end underneath the narrow end. This should make the underside of the tie’s wide end visible facing upwards.

Step 4 - pull & tighten

Pull the wide end up and through the loop.
Pull down on the wide end to tighten the knot carefully with both hands.
