The finish is painted, we wanted a more natural look. So unfortunately returned. However, I could not fault Next, so helpful and quick to process.

Very nice, solid light. We bought to put this externally next to the front door, not yet installed so can't comment on that yet or how it tolerates the outside (the fitting is supposed to be IP44) but based on the appearance and packaging alone, very pleased.

Whilst ultimately I was satisfied with this product, the first time it was sent to me it was completely smashed. I then had to go through the laborious process of contacting Next and coordinating the delivery of another. Next really don't package items like this carefully. When I opened the first lamp, shards of glass fell from the box and landed on the ground. It was dangerous. They need to do better.
