The sun has finally made an appearance and you may find yourself having to update the kids’ clothes. Fast. They may have grown since last year but that doesn’t mean you have to invest in an entirely new summer wardrobe. Follow our quick guide below
What a relief to pack away the winter clothes – kids love nothing more than shedding the bulky layers. No more fights to get them in that padded coat, trousers or tights. For girls refresh her look for summer with clothes that will work whether she’s at her local park, on a holiday at home or jetting of to sunnier climes. What to invest in? A couple of summer dresses, T-shirts, pairs of shorts and a pair of sandals should cover the basics. Just add a hoodie or sweater for those inevitable moments when the temperature drops. It’s also worth investing in swimwear now to ensure you can get her size before the pre-holiday rush.

For most boys, summer is about packing the trousers away and living in shorts and T-shirts but that needn’t be boring. Go for cool pastels and faded denim for a classic summer mix and don’t be afraid to add in some brighter coloured T-shirts or bold-printed cotton shirt to brighten things up. A fresh pair of trainers and sandals will mean his summer footwear is covered. As with girls, it’s a good idea to get his swimwear now. We’ve even got swimming trunks that match with dad’s. Now all he’ll need is a summer cover-up – a comfy hoodie or denim jacket should do the job. Let the fun season commence.
