Think smart suits, sexy separates such as skirts and jumpers and sultry silhouettes - just made for those nights to remember. A touch of animal print and heavy on the sequin dresses – each design is a tribute to femininity and living your best fashion life.

“I wanted to be part of a collection that makes women feel sexy, glamorous and very much empowered! I’m super-proud of this collection – I hope everybody loves it.”

INTERVIEW (1)

Abbey, your new collection is simply stunning! Talk us through the inspiration for your debut Lipsy range?

I just wanted to get across what Lipsy’s known for; The body confident girl who’s glamorous, loves to dress up and go out and combine that with my own personal style. I like a lot of classic tailoring and a lot of black (laughs) and then just mix it up. It’s not all party wear; there are some day wear pieces in there which is perfect for me as a mum of three. It’s not all about party wear and going out anymore. I do need some daytime pieces that women can wear for Sunday lunch or go for a walk in the park with the kids in, it’s important to get a balance.

What are your favourite pieces?

My favourite piece is the midi Bardot faux fur dress I think it’s very Hollywood glamour vibes.  I love the tux suit, I think it’s so versatile and everyone should have one in their wardrobe. I also love the black faux fur coat!

How would you describe your personal style?

Black (laughs), classic and effortless.

What Instagram accounts do you look to for style inspiration?

I love Kate Moss’s style so anything she wears! I also love Rosie Huntington- Whiteley’s style. I follow some of the Victoria Secret models too; I like that off-duty model look.

Favourite Instagram filter or app?

I quite like the Snapchat one that makes you look airbrushed.

Do you try and limit how much time you spend on social media?

I’m more of a looker than a poster. I try not to go on it when I’m with my kids as I like to give them the time and not look at my phone. I look at it when I’m in the bath, get in bed at night or when I have a bit of me time. It’s great for style inspiration and outfits to put together.

How was the photo shoot in New York?

Amazing! It was really good to see all the designs we worked on come to life in the photo shoot. The photographer was amazing, the team were amazing and it was just really good fun being whisked away to New York, even if it was for only 2 days.

Where is the best place to go on holiday?

The Maldives, it’s literally heaven on earth! If I had 1p left it would be spent on going there, not that 1p would get me very far in the Maldives (laughs). It was just paradise when I went in the summer the kids loved it too! It’s just bliss!

What beauty and skin care products do you always have to travel with?

I use these amazing facemasks by Patchology, they hydrate the skin and are amazing for after flying. I like Skinceuticals ce ferulic serum as well.

What song is guaranteed to get you up and dancing?

I don’t need a lot of encouragement to get up and dance (laughs) so any song will do! I’m always the first one up!

Do you have any beauty secrets?

All the mineral powders are always good, they stay on and you get good coverage and it also gives you that nice skin look rather than too much make up. You don’t have to keep topping up.

How do you manage to balance looking after three young children with your hectic work schedule?

I think having my mum around really helps I literally couldn’t do it without her, she helps me so much! I’m lucky enough that I don’t work every single day so I can pick and choose and then I can arrange the kids around that. To me the kids come first but it is important for me to work as it keeps my identity and my independence and I enjoy it!

What piece of fashion advice will you give to your daughters?

My fashion advice to my daughters goes in one ear and out the other! Sophia won’t listen to one thing I have to say.

When they do start to listen I would say don’t spend too much money on trend pieces invest in classic pieces like a blazer, a biker jacket, a good pair of black boots or a handbag.

If you could give your 18 year old self a piece of advice, what would it be?

Not to dye my hair and not to get hair extensions because it just ruins your hair! Look after your hair!

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve even been given?

Be yourself and don’t compare yourself to anyone!

You seem super confident & sexy in your own skin… On down days do you have any self-esteem boosting tips?

Everyone has up and down days and I’m not a super confident person at all. I’m confident in myself and talking to people but I have the same hang ups as everyone else. I think a good booster for me is having a pamper night, I’ll take a nice bath, get my tan on, treatment in my hair and get an early night. You’ll wake up in the morning feeling even better than the airbrushed Snapchat filter makes you.

Do you have a favourite quote?

YOLO! (Laughs)

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I love the American TV show ‘Nashville’
