Try a suit

If you’re not a fan of dresses, show the men how it’s done and make an entrance in a statement suit. As seen on the catwalks of Victoria Beckham, Tom Ford, Hermès – sharp tailoring is a headline trend this season and it's a lot easier to pull off than it might at first seem. For formal dress codes such as Ascot or a black-tie wedding, team with a delicate camisole underneath to keep it polished. If you’re attending a more laid-back affair (eg, your work summer party), switch it up with a simple white T-shirt instead. Either way, keep accessories to a minimum with subtle jewellery, a sleek clutch and strappy black sandals to finish.

Jumpsuits are the epitome of cool and guaranteed to stand out against a sea of fancy frocks. To truly make an impact, break the summer norm of bold brights and opt instead for a classic palette in navy and black. Add statement earrings, block heels to create the illusion of endless pins and complete with your best smile.

If there’s ever a time to embrace the brighter side of life, it’s summer. We’re talking bold and beautiful graphic prints here – so while everyone else is showing off this season’s pastel trend, you’ll be turning heads in something a little punchier.
