What to wear this bank holiday

22 August 2018

No matter what time of year it is and how dependant on the weather you think you can be, England will never fail to surprise you with the climes it decides to throw your way. After (pretty much) wall-to-wall sunshine for months on end, it’d be sod’s law that the bank holiday might not afford us the same luxury.

In light of that, we hark back to the old (but always apt) adage: by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail. So whether you’ve planned a weekend of ultimate chill or want to make the most of every second you have off, you’re going to want to make sure you’ve got your hands on the best new season pieces.

Whether you follow trends or not, there’s something to be said for raising the bar during an occasion like a bank holiday – it’s the last one you’re going to get until Christmas (sorry), so why wouldn’t you make the most of it?

Right now, it’s all about printed (striped, Hawaiian, floral) shirts and T-shirts, shorts (chino or denim) and lightweight jackets (rainproof, preferably) and sweatshirts that you can dress up and down, depending on where you’re going. So jump in, even if you pick just one, and be safe in the knowledge that you have, regardless of the weather, prepared for whatever the bank holiday throws your way.
