Choosing a new mattress

15 March 2018

Celebrate National Sleep Awareness Week which runs from the 11th - 17th March by treating yourself to a new mattress.

Why is this a smart move? Your sleep, good health and quality of life can be hugely improved by updating a mattress and making sure that you don't just make do. The Better Sleep Council suggest updating every seven to ten years, so if you are sleeping on an ageing mattress it's a wise idea to renew it and make sure that you're getting the best possible night's sleep.

On average it's suggested we shuteye for around eight hours per night, which equates to spending one third of our lives in bed. So ok, admittedly a mattress probably isn't the most exciting purchase you will be faced with making, but it's an important investment when you evaluate it's contribution to your general health and wellbeing.

How do you choose the right one? If you have any specific health or medical conditions then it's recommended you consult an expert before making the purchase. Some may need added firm support or an orthopedic mattress, whereas others might require something softer.

If in doubt don't just opt for the cheapest on the market, we would recommend choosing something along the lines of the 1000 rolled gel memory foam medium mattress, available as part of our 101 nights sleep trial.

We also offer a mattress collection service, simply add it to your basket when making your purchase.
